Their Finest Hour

We continue to celebrate Britain's secession from the European Union today with this picture of Sir Winston Churchill, the Prime Minister of the UK during World War II. Shortly after he assumed this position, and in anticipation of the Battle of Britain, Churchill gave one of the most stirring speeches of all times. The powerful concluding remarks of his speech are presented below.


  1. As strange as it seems, I can't remember ever seeing a photo of a younger Churchill. I suppose his wartime photos are so iconic, they simply have been more publicized. Very interesting.

  2. One of England's finest citizens and one of the world's finest statesman. There is a most unfortunate dearth of this sort of character in the world today.

  3. He served in both the Boer War and WWI.
