Sea Bass

Today's picture shows Edward Llewellen after a successful day of fishing. The Sea Bass he caught weighed in at 425 pounds. The picture was taken in 1903, and the fish was caught off Catalina Island. Many thanks to the Evil Nate Maas for sending in the picture.

  1. Edward Llewellen's catch sea bass catch pictured here is the second largest of all time. Llewellen's record would stand for 65 years until 1968, when James D. McAdam, Jr., took a 563 pounder (also off Catalina Island). Unfortunately, no pictures of McAdam's catch exist, but that record still stands today.
