Mess Hall

Today's picture shows the Mess Hall at Boy Scout Camp Ranachqua. The picture was taken in 1919. From what I remember, the food was not that bad at the Scout Camp I went to as a child, and the mess hall did not look that much different from this one.

  1. I loved my summer campouts at camp D bar A. I thought I was way out in the north woods when I was there. It wasn't until I was in College when I realized that the camp was located not to far away from where I was living.

  2. It reminds me of the time I went to the Flying W Ranch near Colorado Springs for dinner. I never went to a scout camp.

  3. OMG! The Flying W, in fact most all of the Waldo canyon was wiped out by a man-caused wildfire. It's all gone!

  4. In Philadelphia we had several Boy Scout Camps nearby, including one right inside the city that was so undeveloped we never realized how close to home we were. Just outside the city were treasure Island and Hart Boy Scout Camp. All three were fun at the time and only later did I realize I actually learned life lessons which benefited me to this very day.
