Indian Baskets

Today's picture shows a group of Native Americans selling Baskets that they have made. The picture was taken in 1905 on Mackinac Island in Lake Huron in Michigan. Native Americans are known for their craft skills, and genuine baskets made by there indigenous people are highly prized today.

  1. The new Cherokee Health Center in Jay, OK. has various basket weave designs laid into the brickwork around the building. That sort of weaving has always fascinated me.

  2. Wonderful photo. In the background is Fort Mackinac, still a popular historic fort to visit if one visits Mackinac Island.
