Gum Vendor

Today's picture was taken in 1915 in New York, and it shows a street Gum Vendor. The man has a small stand, and is selling all different flavors of chewing gum.

  1. One thing that caught my eye in this photo, was the car in the back ground had 3 spare tires.
I can't imagine that this vendor could make a very good living, unless he was charging a hefty price for his gum.

  2. and the car in front of that has 2 spare tires it seems.

  3. I really love and appreciate the photos you share. Thank you so much.

  4. Considering that most tires then were essentially really heavy inner tubes, three spares was probably one short.
