Transceiver

This picture is from 1937. It shows a man testing a transceiver for communicating with aircraft. You can see how large and bulky communication devices were back in the day.

  1. I wonder how large and heavy the aircraft units were?

  2. Depends on the type of aircraft. The stuff in WW2 bombers was pretty big. They had smaller stuff in fighter aircraft, but it was still pretty bulky by todays standards. A lot of beginning hams used surplus aircraft radios after the war.
