Bobby Leach

Bobby Leach was the second person to survive a trip over Niagara Falls in a barrel. He accomplished this in 1911. He spent the next six months in the hospital recovering from broken knee caps and various other traumatic injuries.

  1. Whenever I come across one of these over-the-falls folks, I just shake my head and think, "Why?" On the other hand, we used to walk the railroad trestle with my pals and against my mother's advice. It was, after all, exciting.

  2. I guess he would feel it was worth it, as we are still talking about him 100 years later.
