Crow Indian Camp

Winter Week continues here at OPOD with this picture of a Crow Indian Camp. The picture was taken in 1908 in Montana. It does look very cold, but must say the camp looks like the Tipi would be very snug and cozy. It also looks like they chose a place to winter over that has lots of nearby firewood.

  1. Hey, I was researching for a book I am going to write and stumbled onto your website. My grandmother lived in Southern Oklahoma and worked the oilfields in the 20s. She washed clothes for the men if I understand it just right. I was looking for pictures of Oilfield camps in those days. I wonder if you could point me in the right direction. I enjoyed seeing your laundry photos. I guess I should read a little more to find out just how you know all of this. Lol... Have a wonderful day
