Circus Band

This picture shows the Circus Band for the Barnum and Bailey Circus. The picture was taken in 1910. At first I thought it was a brass band, but then I saw the clarinets on the left.

  1. Love those uniforms. I wonder what colors they were?

  2. Barnum and Bailey had, and I hope still has, circus museum at Baraboo, WI. It's where they used to rest and recoup in their off season. I lived near there and it was a wonderful place to visit and take friends. All kinds of entertainment, including marching bands, and a tightrope walker over "the raging Baraboo River," which was a placid prairie stream. The place smelled of elephants, candy cotton, and peanuts in the shell. Thanks for the memory!
