Teddy Roosevelt

This is another military portrait of Teddy Roosevelt from back in his Rough Rider days. Also, another of my favorite quotes from Teddy Roosevelt:

In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.

  1. yah sure.

First should be the right for the right reasons, second is the right thing for the wrong reasons.

  2. FredT is correct....TR didn't always get it right; his comments on race should make one cringe...however, here's one on big business I think is spot on:
"The great corporations which we have grown to speak of rather loosely as trusts are the creatures of the State, and the State not only has the right to control them, but it is duty bound to control them wherever the need of such control is shown."

  3. Mornings on Horseback is a great book
