Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
What a great week. This photo out does them all. My father worked in the parts department of a Desoto-Plymouth dealer in the late 1940's and early 1950's. The old-timer in the parts department quit the business in about 1960, because he could see what a nightmare the parts business was going to be in the future -- and he didn't want to participate -- so many makes and models to stock parts for -- yikes!
It took me a while to see the attractive woman leaning against the tires on the left side of the picture. Wonder if it's her car waiting to be fixed?? I also noticed several light colored tires, one hanging in the middle of the door opening, one off to the far left. Or are these inner tubes? You'd think you wouldn't inflate the inner tube until you got them in the tire. Not that I've ever had to deal with this combination myself! Anyway, a wonderful picture to round out an interesting week.
I see three women and a man who looks like he is not dressed for working on automobiles. Great photo!
