Pancho Villa

Mexican Insurrection Week would not be complete without a portrait of the beloved populist leader and part time bandit, Pancho Villa. The picture above was taken in 1914, and shows Pancho Villa, and the lovely Mrs. Villa out for an afternoon stroll.

  1. Doesn't really look like much of a bandito does he? I've never seen this picture of him before. Interesting.

    1. Yes, this is actually a fairly typical appearance for him. Felt broad brimmed hat rather than the sombrero so often imagined, and here he's in a three piece suit.

  2. "lovely Mrs. Villa" heehee wink wink, nudge nudge.
