Beach Scene



This is another scene of the beach at Coney Island. It was taken around 1900. This must have been the place to go in the summer, as it is very crowded. Like yesterday, you can see people really wore a lot of clothes to the beach.

  1. How folks survived with all those clothes and no air-conditioning remains one of life's great mysteries. (Even if there WAS a nice breeze off the ocean!)

    1. I think they were just tougher back then. Of course, as a rule, they died much younger.
