Woman of the 1920's

Today's picture shows an example of women's fashions of the 1920's. It is interesting to note what an important part the hat played in fashion back then. Now, the hat as a fashion accessory is pretty much completely gone for women.

  2. If they wear any head gear at all, it more than likely would be a ball cap

  3. Yes, women don't wear hats much anymore but looking at this photo, maybe that is a good thing. ;)

  4. My grandmother was born in 1898 and died in 1974. She never even went to the grocery store without a hat. And my mother's pastor used to joke that the church would probably fall in if my mom showed up without a hat - and she dies in 2011. I own a fascinator, but not a hat to my name, unless you count snow hats. Certainly nothing I'd wear "in public".

  5. Women were afflicted with some seriously strange hats in the same era when men's hats were quite functional. Odd.
