Today's picture is an example of beauty from the early 1900's. This is Miss Billie Burke. She was an actress and probably most remembered for her role as the good witch in the Wizard of Oz.

  3. I loved her as Mrs. Cosmo Topper in "Topper" and "Topper Returns". A brilliant stage actress before films.

Before she took the role of the Good Witch, she had retired from acting after marrying a rich man. But when they lost their money in the stock market crash, she went back.

  4. I didn't realize she was Mrs. Topper! I loved that show. Good clean humor - not like today's shows.
