Stage Coach

Today's picture shows a stagecoach in the Adirondacks. The picture was taken in 1903. I can only imagine how beautiful this ride must have been.

  1. I never think about stagecoaches being used in the East. How strange. And what decides how many horses to hook up? 4 or 6? Did stagecoaches ever use only 2 horses?

  2. Seems as though it could be a very dusty ride at times.

  5. Other than the driver and man riding shotgun I've never seen a stagecoach carry people on top like that.
