Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
Nice picture! Back home (Brazil) there was a push for allowing self-serve around 20 years ago, but labor unions blocked it on the basis that allowing customers to operate the pumps would endanger everyone around (and there is some merit to that, there are people out there which I would not want operating a water fountain, let alone a gasoline one). But filling-up is where "service" ends, most places they will not check your tires (self service), and they look at fluids only as an attempt to upsell you on additives and whatnot.
My sister always said she know where the lead they removed from the gas end up. It rhymes with gas.
