School Bus

Today's picture shows children loading onto a School Bus. The picture was taken in a rural area of Oregon in 1939. I did not know there were areas of Oregon so flat and treeless.

  1. Nice picture. A lot of Eastern Oregon is high desert, once over the Cascades. Most of the west states are like that, mountains and green in the west, dry and sagebrush in the east.

  2. Rigth! Eastern Oregon past Sisters and up of off of the Columbia River. It can get pretty dry and desolate as you east through Oregon and then you hit then Snake River! All mountains and wild country, again!

  3. It does look rather desolate. I wonder how it is in winter?
