Welcome to Harvest Week here at OPOD. With summer coming to an end, it is harvest time for many people. This picture is from 1943, and it shows a worker harvesting lettuce.

Interesting to hear how many people had gardens this year, and how your harvest is going.

  1. Those that have their own gardens, are a leg up on the rest of us.

  2. Our garden is doing well but needs rain. Tomatoes are ripening fast. Zucchini anyone? ; )

  3. We do not personally have a garden, but our church (which dates back to 1692) has had a Colonial garden - Heirloom veggies only - for years, and we can gather tomatoes, peas, melons, and herbs as needed. The woman in charge is a genius; we'd starve on what I could grow.
