Cowboy Week

We wrap up Cowboy Week with this picture of a cowboy and his horse. The picture was taken in 1939 near Spur, Texas.

I hope you have enjoyed this week's pictures. I have enjoyed your comments and will try to come up with a good theme for next week.

  1. It goes to show how being a cowboy has stayed the same, that photo could have been taken yesterday.

  2. This picture is so crisp, it surprised me it was taken in 1939.
Thank you for this interesting week.

  3. This is a young horse this cowboy is breaking to ride. I would guess the horse is between a long two year old and three year old from his head/size. The bridle is a modified sidepull with a snaffle in the horses' mouth. You would only use this on a colt you are training. I am sorry to see Cowboy Week leave. BTW - if you want a real treat read the story about the pony in the house on this blog. It's the funniest thing I've ever read!

  4. This has been a great week. I've been following along, and enjoyed every one of the photos. Appreciate your efforts on our behalf!
