Corn Harvest

Today's picture is from 1940, and it shows a couple of men harvesting the corn crop using two horses. The picture was taken in New Mexico. By this time many farms were moving to tractors and more mechanization.

  1. I hope the rest of the corn field was better than the little shown here at the edge.

  2. is hard to imagine the hugh swing in farm implemennts from this period to today/Some tractors I have seen are turning 8 - 16 rows at walking speed being guided precisely by a GPS-based steering and engine computer

Hope things change for the better or we will all be looking for horses to plow with.
