Goat Carriages

Today's picture shows some elegant little Goat Carriages. The picture was taken in Central Park in New York City in around 1900. It looks as if the carriages were possibly rented out for children to ride around the park in.

  1. I'm enjoying Goat Week. I did not realize how goats were used to pull wagons and to be ridden.

  2. I didn't realize goats were so popular either. From the looks of the carriage, it appears the older boys drove them. Very quaint!

  3. What a throwback that picture is. Kids wearing their Sunday best on an outing in Central Park. You certainly don't see that anymore.

  4. That statue in the background to the right is a bust of Beethoven. Dedicated in 1884
