Express Wagon

Today's picture is from about 1870, and shows a great scene in Denver that could be right out of a Western. The picture shows an Express Wagon in front of the Holladay Overland Mail and Express Company.

  1. It does seem as little strange seeing this in front of tall brick buildings rather than the typical wooden store fronts seen in Western movies.

    1. It would be interesting if we could gauge how much Hollywood has warped our sense of history. : /

In this you see Tappan and the Masons upstairs.

    This page says:
"Later, the Masons met in a third-story hall in the Tappan Building at Fifteenth and Market."
