Downtown Dallas

This is a picture of the downtown area of the "Bid D". The picture was taken in 1942. I wonder if anyone can recognize where this is? I would imagine that most of these buildings have been replaced by now, and the street scene would be completely different.

  1. This is very near the corner of Elm and North Harwood Streets. The Majestic Theater is still there along with the building to its immediate right. If you use Google Maps street view you can see what it looks like recently.

    1. All the theaters were on the same side of the street. The last one was the Rialto which mainly showed double feature "B" movies.

  2. The Majestic has been completely renovated and hosts many spectacular events. Nice! Been there, done that!
