Car Dealership

We wrap up Denver Week with this picture of a Car Dealership. The picture was taken in about 1900. The dealership was for the Felken Cycle Company.

  1. What I wouldn't give for one of those cool looking "cycles" now.....sigh.

  2. I like the seats. It looks like they just cut the legs off the living room couch and plunked it down into the car. I found out that when cars were starting to get popular most of the first dealerships were actually bycycle shops. I saw an old picture of my hometown Stoughton Ma and there in the town square was Leehan Bycycles from around 1885. As a kid growing up in the 60's I always knew of them as Leehan Ford. They went from Columbia bycycles to Ford cars and were one of the original Ford dealerships in the country.

  3. The stock in that showroom is worth ten times what it was then...ha ha
