Today's picture shows a group of people relaxing on a dock in New York City. The picture was taken in 1900.

  1. Lovely picture, this shows a more gentle time. If it were 2013, everyone would either be talking on their cell phone of texting. Great blog!

    1. I think the phrase might be "calm and relaxed" , neither of which are associated with cell phones or driving in frantic traffic.

  2. I love the turn of the century clothes and old baby prams, if that is the correct term. Keep them coming!

  3. You keep wishing for a slower pace....come to Wyoming! A good portion of our state does not have cell service and there is not much hussle and bussle.

    1. Understood. Wyoming is a great state (as is Texas). My ultimate dream would be to move to Africa, where things are really back to slower pace and less technology.

  4. Was it the style then for the older women to wear long dresses and younger girls to wear shorter dresses?

    1. Yes it was. It was accepted that younger people had a lot more energy to race and chase. Younger girls also didn't wear corsets.
