Beach Scene

We wrap up Recreation Week with this scene on a beach from around 1900. Again, I really like zooming in and looking at all the clothes. The little guy on the left appears to be wearing a bow tie.

  1. It is 99.9% guys in the picture. That is odd ...

  2. Hi,
Back in 2007 you posted a picture, http://old-photos.blogspot.no/2007/04/balancing-act.html, that I would love to know where you got. Could you please advice me how to get a high resolution version of that picture? Thanks in advance :)!

  3. Odd. Not one woman in the picture. And all these people and not one pair of glasses? Eyesight must've been better back then?

  4. Perhaps they just didn't go to the eye doctor.

  5. With all that a woman had to wear to the beach at that time, I think I would have to really, really want to go.

  6. I was wondering if this was some sort of men's group since some of them are wearing matching suits with a star on them. No heavies there.

  7. I know some beaches (Cape May NJ for one) had separate swimming hours for men and women. Perhaps this was the case here.
