Chocolate Vendor

Today's picture is from the early 1900's and it shows a young man selling candy. He is working the train station in Norway. I like how back in the day people dressed neatly, even for simple jobs like this. Plus, Norway has some pretty good candy.

  1. He certainly looks official in the uniform.

  2. Speaking of candy bars... Has anyone noticed how thin a regular old Hersey's bar has become?

  3. LICORICE - that's what's needed! More LICORICE! Except the real salty kind...can't say I enjoy that?

  4. There used to be a shop in Baltimore that sold al sorts of roasted nuts. There was always a young man out in front with a small container and a spoon to drop two roasted almonds or cashews into your palm. And the aroma that drifted across the area was divine!

  5. Yes, people used to dress more formally and neatly. I was thinking this as I watched a clerk at a clinic and sat there judging her while I was seated neatly in my jeans and t-shirt! Judge not etc.
