Messenger Girls

This picture is from 1925, and it shows Western Union Messenger Girls at the United States Capitol. A great picture from the "Roaring Twenties".

  2. And how did one manage a messenger bike in heels and a skirt?

    1. I'm guessing that they worked the office while the boys worked the bicycles.

  7. I wonder if larger office buildings which had multiple offices or businesses may of had a Western Union office located on site, and these girls would be delivering those messages to the different floors as they came in throughout the day. So they would still be delivering....just not on a bike.
