Riverboat

Today's picture shows a riverboat coming to shore at Brown's Landing in Florida. The picture was taken about 1890. The guy in the hat looks like it might be the same guy in Saturday's picture. It was the same area at about the same time.

Imagine wearing a bowler and a three piece suit in the swamp. My how times have changed.

  4. Fascinating photo and I love the quaint boat too. It is amazing to think in our "car society" how important rivers were to transport at one time. Maybe still are in parts of the country?

  7. What a delightful boat. I don't know why but all these boats remind me of the movie, The African Queen. Perhaps its the era.

  8. I enjoy all your pictures but mostly I appreciate your work and effort to do this. I ran across a video that reminded me of you and your daughter and would like to share it, if it works with the following link.
