Today's picture shows a young girl with her doll. We don't have much information on the picture, except that it was taken in 1941. The picture looks to be on a farm or some other rural setting.

About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

A little late today.
ReplyDeletePretty photo of a pretty girl. I love her wavy brown hair. While I enjoy the B&W photos, the color is a nice variety. I wonder if she is still alive today?

At first I thought she was probably just visiting the farm. But her shoes look sort of like a farm girl's shoes might. I guess that the yard is behind the fence and she is in some sort of animal pen, with maybe honeysuckle vines recently removed from the fence. Woven wire above the gate in a state of disrepair...she is warmly dressed for what looks like a late fall day, and her hair is neatly combed...I'd be willing to bet a double stuffed Oreo cookie that her mother loved her.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post!
Nice color.
ReplyDeleteTHAT photo is exceptional. A real eye catcher.
ReplyDeleteLooks to me like that is a mobile home in the back ground.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely picture. She reminds me of pictures of my mom....
