Bread Vendors

This picture shows bread vendors in a market in the Sudan. You wold be surprised as how good these breads taste, at least the ones I have had. They are baked fresh daily, to be eaten that day, from all natural ingredients without all the chemical additives. Delicious!

  1. This is a picture that could have been taken yesterday. I wonder where in Sudan this was taken. I have often thought working in a bakery would be a great job, but realize I would probably be drooling the entire time from the smell of just baked bread.

Sudan is an area damaged greatly by a war that has stayed out of the headlines. Make Way Partners ( has done a wonderful job of reaching out to orphans in Sudan.

    1. Don't worry about that! I pick up bread one morning a week from a local bakery - everything that didn't sell yesterday - and carry it to a Sharing Table. The first ten minutes, it's wonderful, but by the end of the hour it takes for me to get to the church hall, it's just overwhelming.

  2. Nothing beats homemade bread, taste-wise or the smell of it baking. I tried a "laffa" flat bread recipe (Greek) this past year that looked similar to the ones in the photo. My family all liked it...this picture inspires me to try that recipe again. :)
