Fruit Market

Today's picture shows a typical African fruit market. The picture was taken in 1936, but could have been yesterday. One of the striking things you remember about Africa is how the fruit is exploding with flavor. Not only are there fruits you have never heard of, your old favorites are taken to new heights of flavor. I especially love the little finger bananas.

  3. I have always liked fruit and vegetable and flower stands.

There are many beautiful produce stands in our area, a large portion of them are run by Amish and Mennonite farmers.

Many of the stands also sell gardening supplies and nursery plants. Their appearance changes with the seasons, being particularly resplendent if the fall when full of pumpkins and mums.
