Fiesta



We wrap up New Mexico week with this picture from Taos, New Mexico, 1940. The picture was taken at their Summer Fiesta, and is shows a band playing music. I love this style of music, but must say I prefer the bands that have a trumpet player.

  1. I agree, the trumpet really rounds out the band by providing contrast to the softer string insturments and playing accenting rifts throughout the score.

  2. I saw a Marachi band in San Antonio. It was lots of fun.
