Camel Drawing Water

Today's picture shows a camel drawing water. It is a deep well, and a big bucket, so water is drawn with the aid of the camel. The picture was taken in 1930 near Jerusalem.

Today I will go visit our well project again, so will have an update for you tomorrow. I had some other things I had to tend to yesterday, so look forward to getting back out to the project.

  1. That must have been a real deep well, that camel that is doing the hauling is a fair distance away from the well.

I'll bet the digging of that well took awhile.
No wonder that they protected them so dearly.

I wonder how bad the air got down in that well while they were digging it?

I noticed they have a pretty good raised protection around the well head.

  2. Happy FREEDOM DAY (FORTH OF JULY).
I sure love lining in a land were we have a few flaws, but we are FREE.
Other than big cities, we don't worry much about someone coming with gun to kill or take what we worked so hard to have.
A country were we are FREE to say what we want with out worry of people coming in the night to take that freedom away from us.
A country were we can travel for 1000's of miles with out being stopped and searched.

WOW, what a great country, the good old USA!!!

  3. Dadd: Hallelujah! Our great country is not just an accident.

PJM: This "well" business has been a great educator. I just had not wondered about how wells were dug and water drawn from deep wells. Many thanks.

How far down to water in Jacob's well?

    1. Yes, many men have died to make this country as great as it is.
A big "THANK YOU" to all who have given and suffered to keep this country great.
