Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

I see the one woman is dressed in a Japanese style kimono and paper parasol. I'm sure she didn't dress that way all the time. Again, no smiling. Maybe they all had bad teeth?
ReplyDeleteFancy dress parties...gotta wonder what they are doing...look at the balloons on the floor.
ReplyDeleteSome kind of party.
Neither one looks particularly happy; maybe it is the shoes. they look tight. But I suppose going around looking like over done drapes is nothing to smile about.
ReplyDeleteDomestic update on Miss EAM please; how is she coming along?
ReplyDeleteThe lady on the right looks rather pleasant, I think. You'll notice the balloons are all on wooden sticks; they are not helium filled. The woman one the left may just have sore hands from holding all those sticks. If they had to face the sun - many early pictures were taken that way - they might look as happy as possible under the circumstances. Staring into the sun makesit hard to smile!
