Collecting Sap

This picture shows a group in Vermont collecting sap from Maple Trees. You can see the buckets hanging on trees, and they are collecting and dumping the sap into a vat on a sled, pulled by horses. The dog looks like he is having a good time in the snow.

  1. Does anyone else find it curious that we have yet to see any of these sap collectors faces from the front this week? Could there be something nefarious about this industry?

  2. Fun in the snow. We did not even have winter herein southern Maryland.

I have a dog like that, a large black Border Collie. He loves the snow.

  3. Nate, I believe you are on to something, what could it possibly be? A secret society! The Society of Secret Sap Siphoners! I knew he couldn't resist Secret Society and Conspiracy Week!

  4. Coincidentally the cartoon Deflocked has had a series that started last week about them being threatened by Aunt Jemima for tapping trees. She flew over and fire bombed them in her biplane

  5. I like it!, "The society of secret sap siphoners" Otherwise known as the diabolical "SOSSS". There must be some other secret ingredients in that VT. maple syrup that they don't want us to know about. Hmmmmm
