I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. ReplyDeleteIn spite of doing a menial job, every one is making an attempt to dress nicely. The coats and hats may have seen better days, but they all look respectable.
ReplyDeleteI have been curious as to exactly what was done with all the husks afterward. I haven't found out, but here is a very interesting story about corn husking back in the good old days.

Do you still have Miss Honey? I remember that lovely photo that you took of her with the bluebelles. I thought she was such a beauty. Love these photos!!lam-IL
