Crockett Ward and the Blogtrotters

We wrap up Folk Music week with this picture of Crockett Ward and the Blogtrotters. If I am not mistaken the man standing is Fields Ward, whom we featured on Wednesday. We present them singing "Sugar Hill" below. I could not really figure out what that song was about. Maybe one of you can decipher it.

  1. Are you going to get some rain today?

  2. That one made my feet move. I love the picture. The 'Ol boy in the middle with the fiddle, only dressed up a little.

  3. PJM, being a blogger of some repute, I can understand your title "Crockett Ward and the Blogtrotters". Their actual name was "Crockett Ward and the Bogtrotters" Davy Crockett Ward led the group, and Fields Ward was his son.

  4. DADD,
Looks cloudy, but no rain so far.

    RJM,
I am not exactly sure what you are saying . . . was my title wrong?

  8. PJM, RJM was just pointing out that you have a letter "L" in "Bogtrotters" that shouldn't be there.

  9. Ah, I see. I could not see the difference. My mistake.

  10. Just northeast of Mt Pleasant Texas is a place called "Sugar Hill" where I was told they make Moon-Shine. Maybe the song is about 'shine.

  12. Nope - Blogtrotters works great. Thanks for providing the audio. I certainly never want to go to Sugar Hill.
