Embargo Lifted - Mystery Person Contest Commences
I am pleased to announce the Embargo has been lifted. This is primarily due to several keen observers yesterday making the connection between the OPOD Embargo and the Post-Apocalyptic movie "Mad Max - Beyond Thunderdome". In any event, the Mystery Person Contest is Underway!

This is Enrico Caruso.
ReplyDeleteThis is Boss Hoss.
ReplyDeleteJust kidding, I have no idea who it is, But I thought I would leave a comment anyways.
Thanks for the lifting the Embargo
By golly I think the ENM is right. Good Job Evil Nat mass.
ReplyDeleteThe embargo has been lifted, and a quick win by the Evil Nate Maas. Ahhhh things are as they should be at OPOD.
ReplyDeletePJM
After I posted my Boss Hoss as a joke, I saw the ENM post, I only had to think for a half a second and it popped out that he was right.
ReplyDeleteSo now that we've put this recent unpleasantness behind us, does that mean we all can expect a Domestic Update tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteI will do my best.
ReplyDeleteRemember, the lovely Ms. EAM leaves for Africa on Monday, so things are a little crazy around here this weekend.
PJM
The problem with the quick win, is that nobody wants to do any posting now. But I will make up for it.
ReplyDeleteYou have my best wishes for Elizabeth (by the way that is my sister's name). I hope she is able to stay out of harms way
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Nate. Do you have a photographic memory?
ReplyDeleteCaruso sure projects a rakish look with his mustache and his long cigarette holder
ReplyDeleteHe *looks like* an evil bankster or oil baron. Sort of surprising that *guys* used cigarette holders.
ReplyDeletePJM, perhaps you could post a picture of your daughter as she leaves. We could share in a virtual 'bon voyage.'
Yes, all the best to EAM. We will be praying for a safe journey.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of which, are there still Saturday meetings at Pugh Park, or did those end with the Gospel Revival?
RTD, thanks for the nice words. Judi, I have far from a photographic memory, but I wish I did.
Close your eyes and listen for the miracle voice. Welcome back to your public! Good wishes and blessings to the lovely Miss EAM. Please keep her in your family update as we out here will be waiting for information. lam in Illinois
ReplyDeleteNate,
ReplyDeleteToday is the last service in Pugh Park for this season. We will get rested and kick it back off next spring. I went over this morning and the park is already full of Labor Day visitors.
PJM
Congrats, ENM.
ReplyDeleteOpera week! Yay ?
Prayers and best wishes go with Ms. EAM. Enjoy!
No Joe, it is not Opera Week.
ReplyDeleteWe will be exploring the glamorous side of cigarette smoking. You know, that wonderful 6 month glamorous period before the cigarettes start killing you.
PJM
Har.
ReplyDeletemy first comment on this website. Nice pictures.
ReplyDeleteNate, I don't know how you do it. Even if someone looks familiar to me I can't attach a name that quickly. (and its not old age!)
ReplyDeleteA smoking opera singer!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for your blog! It's really nice to see all these old photos. And thanks for lifting the "embargo".
ReplyDeleteWith best wishes,
Costa
Best wishes to EAM as she embarks on her journey! Thanks for lifting the embargo~I really enjoy your site!
ReplyDeleteHurrah you came back.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck and much courage to the lovely Ms EAM in her new adventure.
Hey, I knew it was Enrico Caruso right away, but then again, I have some of his recordings! What a voice! Too bad the recording technology of his day wasn't better.
ReplyDeleteI am pleased beyond belief the embargo is lifted. I, like others, was having a hard time adjusting to a day without OPD.
ReplyDeleteI even was able to identify of the two mystery persons in one photo, but incorrectly guessed the sister of the other. It took ENM to get them both. Sigh! I don't know how you do it Nate, but I am impressed, nonetheless. This mornings person was another of those people I thought I should know, but as usual was unable to sync up the correct synapses to arrive at Caruso. Sigh, again.
Best wishes to the lovely Ms EAM.
Am looking forward to any domestic update you are able to put together given your state hectivity!
One of your faithful viewers -
Well, personally, I think think he resembles Hercule Poirot. I wonder if dear Agatha used Caruso for her "model"?
ReplyDeleteBTW, did you know the Christmas Hymn "O Holy Night" was written specifically to showcase Caruso's voice? No wonder the rest of us can't do it justice!
Embargo. Phooey. You're better than the spoiled child syndrome, PJM.
ReplyDeleteBut all things end, and the leaving of daughter to parts unknown can be an emotional challenge, so I'll be amongst the others and forgive ya.
Now how about a week of famous horses, or dogs (not movie-star famous pul-eeze), or well-known places when they were first built?
All the best to EAM and her journey. Hopefully there will be plenty of updates regarding her misonary work. Nice job on the contest Nate.
