EMBARGO DAY TWO
The old picture embargo has been extended for another day. This is due primarily to the surely, insurectios, and yes, mutinous tone of many of the comments yesterday.
I note with amusement all those who said they would erase this blog from their subscribe list, and would never look at it again. I know they say that, but will they come back again today to see if the embargo is still on or to see how people reacted to their announcements. Now they are in a box, because they announced with such great fanfare that they were leaving, they will be unable to leave comments showing their anger and disgust that the embargo has been extended, since they supposedly left yesterday.
EMBARGO ON.
Who runs OPOD?

Boy oh boy! I go away on a business trip, and when I come back, everything has gone to heck!
ReplyDeleteDon't stay away to long.... I enjoy the pictures!
Graham from St. John's
Checking in to see how the site is going this morning. Thought I would be the first to comment, but Graham beat me. I will be out of town for Labor Day, so will be looking forward to reading all the posts when I get back. (and seeing pictures, maybe)

Who runs OPD?
ReplyDeletePJM runs Bartertown.. er, OPD. :)
WHAT THE HECK, EMBARGO DAY TWO
ReplyDeleteAfter I left 3 posts yesterday alone.
Boy, if this embargo keeps up, I may stop reading OPOD in a month or two or three, well no more than four or five.
I hope every one is taking this embargo the same way I am. Getting up on their high horse and having a great laugh.
As far as I can tell this is a plot by the Evil Nate Maas to get people away from OPOD and defect to Nate's Nonsense. I see it is starting to work, or at least a few people have talked about defecting.
Good morning, PJM. Hope you are having a nice vacation & all is well with you.
ReplyDeleteI think evil Nate is behind the embargo threatening PJM. Wat to go Nate ruin it for all of us ! LOL
ReplyDeleteMight I suggest an "Aviator week" of some sort? (off course, for when and if the embargo is eventually lifted ...)
ReplyDeleteIt is always good to step back and take a deep breath or two.
ReplyDeleteI look at the pictures every, comment on few and only when so moved. I never look on the weekends, does that make me a bad boy? ;)
Waaaaaahhhh People on the internet didn't give me attention so I punished them.
ReplyDeleteCry baby.
time to move on this site is gitting flat anyway
ReplyDeletePJM runs OPD. But he might be a Raggedy Man.
ReplyDeleteI must say I do know who the Bedouin are. Feeling rather uneducated after yesterday's post but I was laughing too darn hard to think.
Who is the Leader of this mutiny? I need to know who to kiss up to...
What can I say, other than I was enjoying Bedouin week. Still can't find the name of the book I read. "Twas a worthy read and helped explain some of the "way of thinking" that is prevalent in that part of the globe.
ReplyDeleteAs to bare feet -- when I saw the sandaled and almost bare feet of the Afghan soldiers when we were hunting Osama Bin Laden in the Torta Bora mountains I realized why no one has ever defeated the Afghans. They are tough! Not Bedouin, but just as tough.
I find this embargo to be damned unfair. I spent the week out at FOB Tombstone and get back to find out we are under embargo Damn the unfairness of it all!
ReplyDeleteLorenzo Poe
Maybe next week we could have pictures of old time oilmen. In honor of this week's embargo!
ReplyDeleteLorenzo Poe
That's it, I made up my mind, if the embargo is still on after 8 or 9 months, I'm going to stop reading OPOD.
ReplyDeleteYour somewhat loyal fan.
Speaking of embargos -Cuban Week?
ReplyDeleteAmusing!
ReplyDeleteWhen the dust settles the smart- alecks settle down, I like the suggestion for another aviation oriented week on OPD.
ReplyDeletePJM runs OPOD!!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if PJM uses peacock poop to make methyl gas?
ReplyDeleteAs we now find ourselves in Embargo Day Two, I'd like to remind everyone to remain calm and maintain your resolve. This temporary trouble cannot last forever, although I feel sorry that it fell during a week full of photochrom promise. If the Embargo becomes a Blockade, you can rest assured that I'll continue to resist OPOD Super Villainy.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to guessing the identity of the mystery embargo blank page on Saturday!
ReplyDeleteJohn
waaaah who cares
ReplyDeleteChecking in. No photo yet. Still love the site and look forward to you coming back to us. lam
ReplyDeleteWhy
ReplyDeleteRTD at 6:23 -
ReplyDeleteThere's no outpouring of comments at Nate's place. He DOES have a very nice doodad on the side, that announces when you arrive, where you're from, and who else has been there.
Thanks PJM. It's a marvel that you so consistently post (mostly) interesting photos related to a theme . . .
What's the status of your daughter?
Do you have any more recipes for Hatch chilis?
Are you giving away the extra veggies?
Might you start a seed exchange of heirloom varieties?
hmmph.
To RTD:
ReplyDeleteYou are going to have tell the viewers here - AGAIN - the instructions for leaving a name. 'Anonymous' has been too busy today.
To bs: You're missing the best when you miss the weekends, especially when there's a domestic update.
where are the little like boxes below the Photos???? i liked to like that.
ReplyDeletenps
Hey PJM,
ReplyDeleteYour embargo shamed me into signing up with Google and hurrying up to leave a comment. But now if this keeps up I will send you a big cloud of snow this winter. Give me my picutres!!!!!
Have a great day
Z in cold Montreal
I too love the domestic updates. On that, as this dry spell has been compared to the dust bowl, how about an irrigation/drought themed week?
ReplyDeleteLet me guess saturdays mystery photo early , Maines whiteout blizzard of 1900 ...... do i win
ReplyDeleteI've never commented but I look every day. Love the mystery person even though I think I've only ever recognized one. And I for one liked the Bedouin pictures.
ReplyDeleteGather around little ones and listen to Grandpa tell ya a story
ReplyDelete"I remember way back in 2011 the great picture embargo". You think you kids have it tough? Well lemme tell ya, that ole scoundrel PJM took away our pictures and no one had a clue how to start the day anymore. Soon enough folks wouldn't even get out of bed anymore. Thay just dried up and blew away. Yes, youngins, those were horrible days and if history teaches you anything, keep commententing or history might be repeated.
LOL, Dave 107!
ReplyDeleteIt is after 1:00pm, and I am still in my pajamas. Without my morning picture, I just couldn't get motivated to start the day.
ReplyDeleteWho owns OPD?
ReplyDeleteWell, the behavior over the past two days has helped me know quite a bit about the owner of OPD, let me tell you.
See? It's started happening, see Anon 12:06 post. I told ya! Stay tough out there. Anon 12:06 is showing stage 1 signs of OPD withdrawal. Stage 2 is the uncontrollable urge to read People magazine and watch Springer. Once that happens I'm afraid there is little chance of recovery. No one has ever come back from that.
ReplyDeleteI'll wait patiently. Hopefully pictures will be back soon. ;)
ReplyDeletei think he wanted to adda few xtra days to the weekend, and to cut back on the overhead, and maybe get
ReplyDeletesome projects finished !
have a nice holiday all !
oldbear.
Well, tomorrow is Saturday and the photo puzzler. I can't imagine that PJM would rescind that classic event.
ReplyDeleteI bet it'll be really tough.
(second post today.)

ReplyDeleteI miss pics !
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed your OPOTD and check it everyday. Please dont go away, I appreciate your site even if I dont post a comment.
ReplyDeleteA loyal Fan ...
It is now almost 7:00pm on a beautiful sunny day. Still in pajamas. No People magazine yet, Dave 107, so maybe there is a road back, depending what happens tomorrow morning.
ReplyDeleteDoes OPD = over-posting disorder?
ReplyDelete(sigh)
ReplyDeleteI'm just a lurker. I don't think I've ever commented. But, I'll hang around - I need those domestic updates!
47th comment, beats yesterday's count, yippee!
ReplyDeleteSmaller ratio of pulers to admirers, too, looks like.
What's going on? :-(
ReplyDeleteDon't be discouraged. Lots of us look at the great pictures, but just don't comment. Sometimes I'm speechless!
