Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

Looks like Lizzie Borden.
ReplyDeleteWe have a winner!
ReplyDeleteWas it that easy, Joe?
PJM
She was famous in the kids' rhyme.
ReplyDeleteOff to McDonalds for breakfast for you this week, PJM. You are gonna have to find tougher pictures. RTD and ENM didn't even have time to chime in on this one
ReplyDeleteLizzy Borden took an axe and gave her mother 40 wacks...
ReplyDeleteWhen she saw what she had done, she gave her father 41.
Do you think in a hundred or so years we will be recognizing Casey Anthony that fast?? :)
ReplyDeleteDang!! finally one I know and I'm too late to "win."
ReplyDeleteIs this a hint to this week's theme?
Does this mean we can look forward to axe murderer week at OPOTD?
ReplyDeleteJimbo,
ReplyDeleteMaybe not Ax Murderers, as there is a shortage of good pictures, but perhaps we will examine the criminal mind this week.
PJM
Perhaps if Miss Borden had met a good man to keep her in check none of the ax murdering would have happened.
ReplyDeleteThe same goes for that Casey girl too.
Bahahaha!!! Mean Old Man! That's the funniest joke I've heard yet!!
ReplyDeleteYea! I guessed it before I saw the answer. I've seen this photo somewhere before. I think they show it on the history channel or some such thing when they cover her. She has this weird vacant expression that just freaks me out. I think that's how I recognize her.
