Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

Hoping you all have a wonderful and meaningful weekend and Memorial Day.
I know
ReplyDeleteIs it Edwin Stanton?
ReplyDeleteI've got no clue either. Curious about the fabric covered suit buttons and white cord on his lapel.
ReplyDeleteI'm watching WW2 classic "Sahara" on Turner Classic Movies channel. Remember those who died for our freedom.

ReplyDeleteGood Job Anonymos
ReplyDeleteAnon,
ReplyDeleteYes, it is Fitzhugh Lee, nephew of General Robert E. Lee.
Fitzhugh was a cavalry general for the conederate army, and later a general in the US army in the Spanish American war.
