Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

Is it Huey Long?
ReplyDeleteI'll have to ponder the "lady's" idenity.
I can only say your entry is not a winner.
ReplyDeleteTo be a winner, you have to identify both people correctly in one entry.
The game continues.
PJM
John L lewis is the photo, not sure of the girl...almost looks like Kate Hepburn, but that couldn't be, could it?
ReplyDeleteMichael,
ReplyDeleteBlog management regrets to inform you that your entry is not deemed to be a winning one.
PJM
Okay, how about Huey Long and Jessica Buck?
ReplyDeleteIntense Guy,
ReplyDeleteYour entry is not going to be a winner this morning
PJM
:)
ReplyDeleteOh well, my next attempt was, John Lewis and Jessica Buck...
Intense Guy,
ReplyDeleteBlog management appreciates the rapid fire nature of your entries but must once again inform you that you are not a winner.
PJM
It seems we will be featuring gentleman raiders of a different sort this week.
ReplyDeleteCould it be John L. Lewis and Eleanor Nelson?
ReplyDeleteNate,
ReplyDeleteBlog Management gleefully reports your entry to be not correct.
DENIED!
PJM
Huey Long and Jennifer Jones
ReplyDeleteSorry to be rapid firing comments. I just wanted to win once. :)
ReplyDeleteJohn L. Lewis and Miss Ruth Riley?
Roger,
ReplyDeleteBlog management wishes to inform you that your negative commentary on the Gentlemen Raiders did not go un-noticed, and hence gleefully announces that your entry is not a winner.
PJM
Intense Guy,
ReplyDeleteBlog management has no rules on how many times a person can enter, or how quickly. It was simply observing your entries to be rapid fire. While your latest entry came after some delay, it was in fact no better than the earlier ones.
PJM
John L. Lewis and Marian Hepburn.
ReplyDeleteIs it susan and daniel anthony.
ReplyDeleteHow about John L Lewis and Lori Lewis?
ReplyDeleteBlog management regretfully must announce that once again.
ReplyDeleteThe EVIL Nate Maas is the winner.
Yes, it is Marian Hepburn, little sister to Katherine, and of course lewis on the calendar.
PJM
Congratulations ENM...... no victory breakfast PJM...FOR NOW!!!
ReplyDeleteNext week I will have my breakfast, oh yes, next week I will have my breakfast. Nate will Rue the Day he ever stumbled upon this contest.
ReplyDeletePJM
So, John L. Lewis. Might I guess that next week's theme will be "Notable Eyebrows"?
ReplyDeleteOh, naive PJM, there was no stumbling upon this contest. I was specifically assigned to monitor this blog by the Director of the Federal Bureau for the Denial of Super Villain Victory Breakfasts.
ReplyDeleteObviously some very dark forces at work here.
ReplyDeletePJM
Mr. PJM,
ReplyDeleteThe Evil Nate Maas don't never rue nothin'.
Ah ha! So you don't deny your nefarious schemes!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Nate, mission accomplished. And PJM: You can treat yourself to an opulence breakfast when you reach 2000 followers!
ReplyDeleteGood job, ENM.
ReplyDeletePJM, I did give you a thunbs up on Mosby's Raiders.
HAHAHAHAH!!! I don't have a clue about who John L. Lewis is, but the comments are VERY entertaining!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I think I should credit for being close anyway. I was the first to get John L Lewis, the infamous labor leader, and did think Marion resembled Kate, but I never even gave a thought to pursuing that line of logic to find her sister. I was just overjoyed that I was able to finally recognize someone in the contest!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Nate.
Yes, I think Michael should get credit for being the first to identify John L. Lewis and he certainly had the right Hepburn family. Way to go!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fun, PJM!
Enjoyed the contest and the entertaining comments. I hope the ENM does NOT get the government involved!
