Riverboat Landing

Good Tuesday Morning to you all. I hope you are having a good week. I have come down with a cold, so I am pretty miserable this week. Hopefully I will get it cleared up soon. In the mean time, I will keep posting pictures. Today's picture shows two riverboats making a landing in Memphis, Tennessee. I keep looking for a picture that would show cotton being loaded or unloaded, but I have been unable to find one. I feel that ht ideal riverboat picture would need to show some bales of cotton.

Do you think they could get any more bales on that boat?

  2. These scenes could never take place today. The water's edge today is concealed behind regulated "protections".

  3. I realize that you can not use that photo unless you pay for it, but people can copy and past that site and get a chance to look at a almost fully loaded steamboat. As you can see they are in the process of using the boat's crane to load a bale of cotton at the front of the boat.

  4. It’s only Tuesday, but already I think these Mississippi Riverboat photos are impressive!

  5. Roger, that steamboat looks so full! I would hate to think how it would handle any maneuvering, wind or even the crew walking around.

  11. These are the same boats as yesterday, with the camera in a different location. The boat on the right is the Belle of the Bends. Can't make out the other one.
