Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

ReplyDeleteA tie! Now what I want to know is how they knew!
ReplyDeleteBeing a sciience buff, it was easy to reconize the inventor of the assemble line.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is Eli Whitney.
ReplyDeleteNow can you guess what Next Week's theme is?
PJM

Elin, I'm a history teacher, so he was recognizable to me. Since Whitney invented his gin while working as a private tutor, I'm hoping that next week will be school teacher week!
ReplyDeleteDang. I was sure it was Dolly Madison in drag.
ReplyDeleteDarn! I knew who it is and I have some other pictures of him. He's a cousin on my paternal grandmother's side. It seems like I'd have to be up at 5am my time to ever participate though.
ReplyDeleteIs the next week's theme inventors by chance?

It's amazing how early people will get up on a Saturday for PJM. Especially those living on West Coast time. Good job, Nate.
ReplyDeleteGood job, Roger.
Now, about that spelling....and 'the assembly line'....hmmm Someone was still half asleep, I think. But, they were quicker & did better than me.
I could look a riverboat photos all day, but I'm just happy you like to put up old pictures, PJM.
ReplyDeleteI'm always late on Saturdays . . . late and wrong. But I have a goal, anyway! Motivation.
