Ralph Madsen and Morris Shepard
Ralph E. Madsen, the tall cowboy, shaking hands with Senator Morris SheppardEasily googled -- I am not THAT smart.
Nor am I all that fast on the keyboard...
Wow I did not think it would be that easy. Good job.We will declare this a tie between Roger and Indy, as they both came in at 7:53.PJM
Lots more about Ralph Masden
Good job Roger and Downtown Indy!
When Senator Sheppard died in '41 the special election to fill out his term put LBJ against Pappy "Pass the Biscuits" O'Daniel. LBJ won but had it stolen from him in Duval County. Next time LBJ tried in '48 he made sure his man got to George Parr with a satchel before Coke Stevenson's people could. A digression, I know. But seeing Sheppard made me think of it. Jim
"Pappy "Pass theBiscuits" O'Daniel". Wasn't that Charles Durning's character in "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"I must have seen that movie (at least in part) a dozen times. Love the music.John
John,Yes that was the character.BTW, that was one of my all time favorite movies. My mom had seen Pappy O'Daniel when she was a little girl, and she said the character in the movie really reminded her of him.PJM
So just how tall was that cowboy?
