Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

Herbert Hoover?
ReplyDeleteMichael,
ReplyDeleteIt is not Herbert Hoover.
PJM
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
ReplyDeleteI have no idea who it is, I just had to pop in and say: Man, do I ever love a good bowler hat. I doesn't matter whether it's on a man or a woman, a bowler always wins. Name one better thing you could put on your head? Just one? That's right, you can't! Because there's nothing better than a bowler hat!
ReplyDeleteRoger,
ReplyDeleteIt is not Sir Arthur Conan Doyle,
Oskar,
I vote for the stetson over the bowler.

PJM: You, my friend, have clearly never seen Cabaret :)
ReplyDeleteI'll guess VP James Sherman. And by the way, Oskar, you have clearly never seen Capt. James Walsh.
ReplyDeleteSidney Greenstreet's father?
ReplyDeleteNate,
ReplyDeleteOnce again you are the winner and correct on both points.
Yes, it is VP Sherman, and yes, Captain Walsh had the all-time ultimate hat.
I will one day have that hat, oh yes, one day I will have that hat.
PJM
Nate you're awesome..
ReplyDeleteGood job Evil Nate Mass
ReplyDeleteGood job, Nate!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of a good fedora, myself.

ReplyDeleteExcellent work Nate.
ReplyDeleteLoser team baseball cap sideways, pants on the ground!
ReplyDeletej/k
I have that hat.
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes, everyone feels as if they are important when they wear a bowler. The tricky part is finding vintage ones large enough for modern heads.
And if not mistaken he was the last Vice President to die in office.
