Domestic Update


OK, I promised you a major domestic update this week, and here it is . . . the day we have all been waiting for has finally arrived . . . I have taken delivery of my new tractor. Yes, I got the Big Dan Tractor Package, including the tractor, front end loader, brush hog, and box blade. Also included in the package was the towing trailer. 

I have always appreciated the support and the advice of all you visitors, so must once again ask you for advise. Should I tell Mrs. PJM I got the tractor, or should I go hide it out behind Chickie Town?

  3. Since the tractor isn't John Deere Green, you might have a bit of trouble hiding it. It's beautiful and you've waited so long. The next town parade will be totally enhanced when you drive by. Congrats!

  4. With that color, it will be extremely hard to hide even in Chickie Town. Looks like a 4-wheel drive model to boot! You did well on your purchase so now all you have to do is reach an understanding with MrsPJM. I'll keep you in my prayers.

  5. Well, I guess yo might as well tell her. If you'd bought a green John Deer at least you would have had a chance of hiding it in the brush. With fire engine red, your going to have to come clean with the Mrs.

  9. Up here in North Dakota Kubota tractor are a bright orange in color. You will never have to worry about a hunter shooting at it.
    I see it was my second guess on Sunday about the big upcoming news.
    Is it hydostatic drive or gear shift.
    Good job PJM.

    Yes, you should show it off to her and let her drive some. She may even like driving it and do the brush cutting for you.

    But I think you are pulling our legs, I mean how could she not know. It's such a bright red that I am sure it is visible from space even. Now being a wimp does not fit in with the character of a gentleman farmer extraordinaire, so be bold, be brave.

  14. I'll add my congratulations to everyone else's. How will you find the time to teach and come up with Mystery Persons when you have that great new toy??

    I think you should take Mrs. PJM on a spin on the new tractor, to win her over. Take her into town for ice cream. She'll love it.

  21. Great tractor, I have one just like it (older model) and I truly could not get by without it now. The front end loader is as useful as a pocketknife. I wish you much success with it.

    Congrats its been long coming. Mrs PJM will love it. And its my
    birthday today (yesterday because it is the 16th). All good things happen to good people. How will you ever go to work and leave this beauty.

  24. Your dream of being a Gentleman Farmer is coming true..live dangerously and tell her..perhaps you should buy her a beautiful flowered covered hat so she can drive it too! I think you should have ordered it in camo if you planned to keep it hidden:)
