Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

As someone who works the overnight shifts it is unusual for me to see your contest this early. My wild guess is Barney Oldfield..
ReplyDeleteDAG,
ReplyDeleteThat is not going to be a winner.
PJM
My guess is Joseph Stalin.
ReplyDeleteElsie,
ReplyDeleteThat is not correct.
PJM
PJM will be working in the greenhouse for the next 30 minutes. Please continue to play, and I will look at entries in a half hour.
ReplyDeleteWillam K. Vanderbilt

PJM, thanks for the fun! I invite all those (including yourself) who would like to continue to the fun to head over to natemaas.com where a separate contest is underway.
ReplyDeleteGreat Mystery photo today. I never would have guessed it, but then, not being an early riser, on the few occasions when I have known the subject, someone else has guessed it correctly hours before.
ReplyDeleteAnd PJM, congratulations on the nice words about your site in The New Yorker!
